Intentionality

Intention is the minds ability to grasp objects or concepts or directions of mental entities. The problems of letting a the mind communicate with, issue commands to and grasping the existence of - it self - are all related to the term Intentionality in the anglosaxon analytical philosophical tradition. Intentionality is, I presume, the philosophers attempt to grasp the generality of the brains neurons. By presenting a very simple and familiar word to hold a meaning that has nothing to do with the daily used english word “intention” or the slightly less known philosophical terms intension (in contrast to extension), the philosophers hope they are making their terminology approach the complexity of the functions the reasonably general neurons are capable to perform.
